On June 11, 2014, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue received an unusual call. The firefighters are used to running out to put out fires and assist in the rescue of humans, but when the caller said the one in need was a Dachshund, the unit knew the day would be one they will always remember.
A Dachshund or Weiner dog as they are commonly know, needed rescuers to get him out of the jam he put himself in. The small dog tried to squeeze through burglar bars but unfortunately got stuck.
The curious pet couldn’t avoid getting into trouble. Something caught his attention and the canine decided that no matter what he would pass through the bars. He probably thought that if his head fit, his body should too, but he wasn’t counting on his torso being a bit more plump that the circumference of his head.
Luckily, firefighters were able to free the small pet and best of all, the pet was unharmed.
We hope the four-legged trouble maker learned his lesson and never again tries to escape the security bars.
