On July 12, 2014, a medium size dog from Fresno, Calif., got stuck in between the bars of an iron fence when it tried to escape from its own backyard. Luckily for the canine, a concerned neighbor saw the dog in trouble and called firefighters to come and rescue it.
Firefighters from Engine 17 used a hydraulic spreader to widened the gap between the bars and free the pet.
It is believed the pet spent more than 10 hours stuck in the fence, its owners were out of town at the time of the accident, and fortunately, the dog did not suffer any injures from this unfortunate accident.
The Good Samaritan who reported the incident, agreed to watch the pet until its owners returned home.
