A sweet, senior girl named Lucky is in need of a home after being coldly dumped at the Carson Animal Care Center in California. As if this act alone wasn’t despicable enough, the man went looking around the shelter for a younger dog to replace her! Thankfully she has been taken in by a rescue group, and hopefully will soon have a family who will love her the rest of her life.
“Sweet LUCKY was just left at the shelter by her dad who said she was too old and then he walked away from her and went looking for a new, younger dog,” said Saving Carson Shelter Dogs. “She is scared, confused and she deserves so much better. Please take a look at her video and SHARE this sweet senior, she needs help now. Thanks!”
Hopefully – as much as all shelter dogs need homes – Carson did not allow the man to adopt a dog who doubtlessly would end up back in a shelter once they got too old.
They continued by saying:
#A4784988 My name is Lucky and I’m an approximately 14-year-old female Labrador retriever. I am already spayed. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since December 17, 2014. I will be available on December 21, 2014. You can visit me at my temporary home at C112.
My former family who owned me for more than five years had to give me up because they said that I spend most of my time indoors. I seem to be good with small children. I have not been housetrained. I am good on a leash. I have advanced obedience skills. I seem to get along well with dogs.

According to the comment thread, she has been pulled by rescue group Leave No Paws Behind. Now she needs a proper home! If you are interested in helping a sweet old girl who’s down on her luck, please email info@leavenopawsbehind.com.
Carson has so many fantastic dogs in need of homes – German shepherds, pit bulls, Chihuahuas, huskies, and lots of loveable mutts! It’s not a good idea to give someone a pet as a present if you don’t know for sure that they want one, or that they’ll be a good match, but if you do know someone who is very interested in getting a dog, get them a shelter dog! The many cuties that Carson has to offer can be seen by clicking HERE.
