Last week, officer Allen Speed and Paul Garcia were traveling down I-30 in Forth Worth, Texas, when they spotted a small terrier running down the highway. The female dog was scared and disoriented, and thanks to the officers, the pet, now named Beach, was rescued.
The rescue video was captured by the police car camera and later uploaded to YouTube.
The video shows how the officers stopped traffic and used a bag of dog treats to lure Beach to them. The pet was very scared and tried avoiding the officers but a few minutes later she approached officer Garcia and he was able to scoop her to safety.
Beach was taken to the Humane Society of North Texas and placed on hold for a few days to give her family a chance to claim her. When her holding period was up, the dog was placed for adoption and on February 5, 2015, she found a new forever home.
Congratulations to Beach! Thank you officers Speed and Garcia for your heroic actions.
