At least three times this June, Brian and Lynzie Carter have had their backyard broken into by one man. He was breaking into the area where Maya, the family dog, is kept and he lets her out. The reason for this is still under investigation by police.
The Carters discovered the man after placing cameras out in their yard. The man, Timmy George Ross, is unknown to the family. The video of the partially clothed Ross was posted to the Carter’s Facebook, with a plea for help identifying the person in it.
On Wednesday, the Roosevelt Police department put up a thank you notice on their Facebook page saying, “The man in the dog cage has been caught and charged. Thanks for everyone’s interest and help.”
The pictures and video used to help capture Ross show him dressed very strangely. He’s wearing a white shirt, ball cap, sneakers and what appears to be women’s tights. He is seen on one occasion bringing refried beans with him, and another time he has chicken nuggets with him. Several images show Ross with his buttocks exposed, and on his hands and knees.
When questioned by police, Ross says he was trying to let the dog run free. In his own words, “(She) needed let out to run.” Ross has a history of crime, including a prior misdemeanor conviction for driving under the influence, theft, drug possession and weapon violations.
The carters are feeling much more secure thanks to all of the help over social media, and the Roosevelt Police Department’s quick action and attention.
“I feel better about the situation now,” said Lynzie Carter. “(The police) said if he comes back again, they’ll take him straight to jail.”
