Hundreds of dogs that were companion pets to many psychiatric patients in Uruguay, South America, were forcefully and humanly removed, after staff members form the mental institution locate in the Etchepare Colony reported being violently attacked by dogs. However, one dog walked over 37 miles to get back to his owner who he unconditionally loves.

Juan Tarquino’s world came crashing down on the night of November 18, 2014, when his dog Piaf, a female black Labrador mix, broke loose from her leash and collar and ran off into the streets. After getting hit by a car, the pet fled and got lost. The dog’s whereabouts were unknown for five months, but on April 7, 2015, Piaf and Tarquino met once again. Their reunion was unbelievably emotional.

Officer Jerry Popp, from Wilmington, Ohio, did not have a good end to 2014, his dog and work partner, a Belgian Malinois named Karson, went missing on December 22, 2014. The dog escaped the boarding facility he was in while Popp was on vacation and it took the Wilmington Police Department and dozens of volunteers two months to find and capture the K-9.

When Charles Gaston, MTA welder and track worker for New York’s transit system, found a female, matted poodle mix on Feb. 8, 2015, he thought the pet had been lost for weeks. He rescued the dog and took her home to care for her as if she was his own. He named her Delta, after the D line where she was rescued, and eight days later reunited the pet with her rightful family.

David Baker was in his San Francisco apartment sleeping when a burglar broke in and snatched his computer, some electronics, and his female blue-nose Pit bull named Mochi. The pet owner made a police report but he also took to social media to spread the word about his missing pet. Thanks to his post, Mochi was found, returned home and the burglar apprehended.

Eragon, a Chihuahua from London got lost this past August while out on a walk. His owner Samantha Jones wanted nothing more than to find her dog, unfortunately she never found him, yet as a true Christmas miracle, Eragon was found inside a Santa sack just nine days before Christmas.

Over a year ago, Joules a Staffordshire Bull Terrier from Middlesex, went missing. Her owner, Liz Wilson-Roberts, searched for her pet, but after not finding the dog, the pet owner convinced herself that her dog was forever gone. Well, a few weeks back, Joules and Wilson-Roberts were once again reunited, all thanks to the dog’s microchip.

When Linda Quinn, from Coxheath, Nova Scotia, Canada, went out to walk her dogs on November 30, 2014, the last thing she thought was that she would be saving a senior dog from drowning in a river. Not only did she save the pet, she also helped reunite the dog with the worried owners.

Gabrielle Cowgill-Wilkins from Greenbelt, Md., was devastated when she came home on October 15, 2014, to find her home ransacked and her 10-year-old boxer, named Arwyn, missing. For multiple days the pet owner searched the area hoping to find her pet. She posted signs and hoped someone had seen the dog somewhere. Thanks to a tip, Cowgill-Wilkins and her dog were reunited.

On Halloween night, an American bulldog named Charlee got lost in Willows Beach, British Columbia, Canada, when fireworks went off and the dog took off in a panic. It took the dog’s owner, Chris Rempel, and his friends 19 hours to find the terrified lost dog.

Rempel’s brother in law and a friend took Charlee to Willows Beach around 9 p.m. on October 31, 2014, for a late night walk. When fireworks started, the dog took off into the darkness and the dog walkers couldn’t find the spooked pet.
