A Facebook page has been started in support of the slain dog, as well as a petition calling for disciplinary action to be taken against the flippant officer.
“He doesn't look angry or aggressive at all - really mellow. It was just the circumstances of what happened,” said Melissa Gable with MCACC. “It's a really tough decision, so we're taking time to figure it out.”
Negotiations are ongoing, and while this clemency may only be temporary, the time is giving Buddy a better chance to be permanently cleared at an appeal.
“I am offering to transfer OAS' dogs to the one organization with the resources to take appropriate care of them: Best Friends Animal Society," said Markwell.
