“For her to stop and take a moment of her time to show just a little compassion to an animal that obviously just lost his best friend goes to show us there are some people out there that really do care,” Michelle Carrington said.
After falling 200 feet, the dog walker was disoriented and couldn't give her exact location, but thanks to modern technology, rescuers pinpointed her cell phone's signal and rescued her.
“You would never know anything negative happened to him,” said Anna Friedman, adoption manager at OTAT. “The resiliency of animals and dogs specifically is always really amazing.”
The neglected animal was rescued and evaluated by a veterinarian who found the dog suffering from an acute case of dermatitis over most of her body, tick fever and edema.
Now that the canine has her two all-terrain wheels, she is able to comfortably and safely wheel herself around while using the strength of her front legs.
