It is clear from the tear stains on JJ’s fur that all he’s known is a life of misery. But after spending 13 long years tied to a tree in Seattle, he has finally been rescued and taken on real adventures. Now he is ready for a real home.
A concerned person came to JJ’s “home” and demanded that his owner give him up. Amazingly, they did, and now JJ can finally learn what it means to be happy.
He is almost 14, weighs 120 pounds and is housebroken, so he must have been trained at some point. Being chained for most of his life, he has developed a strong prey drive. It is recommended that he not be homed with cats or other small animals. He may get along well with a senior female dog, someone close to his energy level.
It would probably be for the best if he is adopted into a home without small children, but only because he will require lots of attention. A cozy home with a fenced-in yard would be ideal.
JJ requires pain management and anti-inflammatory therapy for arthritis. He doesn’t like having his paws or ears touched, but the ear sensitivity may chance once he is finished with the antibiotics for his ear infection.
Included in the adoption package is an as-needed medication supply, free lifetime massage and an end-of-life plan.
JJ is very affectionate, which is miraculous for a dog neglected for so long. He loves to go for walks and has spectacular leash manners.
