German Shepherd Found Frozen to Ground Six Days After Getting Lost

For Allentown, New Jersey resident, Dina Alborano, February 4, 2015, and the subsequent days were just a nightmare. Alborano’s six-year old German Shepherd, named River, got out of her backyard and got lost in the woods. He was found clinging to life and frozen to the ground 5.5 miles away from home.

When Charles Gaston, MTA welder and track worker for New York’s transit system, found a female, matted poodle mix on Feb. 8, 2015, he thought the pet had been lost for weeks. He rescued the dog and took her home to care for her as if she was his own. He named her Delta, after the D line where she was rescued, and eight days later reunited the pet with her rightful family.

Thieves Take Doggy Day Care Van Carrying Seven Pets

For seven Chicago pet families, Wednesday, February 18, 2015, is a day they don’t ever want to relive again. Their pets were inside an unmarked Urban Out Sitters’s doggy day care van when two thieves approached the car, hijacked it, and took off with seven dogs. All dogs were found safe the following day, but their owners feared they will never see their pets alive again.
