While the hero rescuers excavated an area they overheard the cries of a dog. Following the sound they moved to where the sounds were coming from and started digging. Soon enough they found the dog.
If it wasn't for the therapy dog, Paul Aragon would have not graduated. The ARMY veteran suffers from PTSD and Zoey helped him get through the dark days.
After Major was sure someone would be on their way to help, he then made his way out to the front of the house to wait. He was out at the curb when police and medics arrived, and lead them into the house and right to McGlade, still in distress.
“She’s been sleeping on concrete in a kennel her whole life,” said Bos. “She’s going to get to be on the couch, everywhere. She’s going to be living the civilian life.”
Eddie, a five-year-old Belgian Malinois, has spent most of his life at MacDill Air Force Base earning his reputation as a hero. Now he has the official documents to prove it, and has retired with full military honors.
While Sgt. Mark received treatment in the U.S. he never forgot his loyal, four-legged comrade. He wondered if the dog would forget him but the bond between the service man and his dog is unbreakable.
“He made me realize that I don’t have any problems. If he doesn’t have any problems, I don’t have any problems. I told (Trooper) that night, ‘Little dog, I’m going to buy you a new set of wheels.’”
