Police were disgusted when they walked into the backyard of the home to find a 25 to 40 people actually watching a violent and bloody dog fight match going on at around 9:30pm Tuesday.
“There's not much that you won't do for your kids and that's how I feel (about the dogs),” Sappington said. “They saved me, now I'm going to do everything in my power to save them.”
“Obviously we were disappointed that the court dismissed the suppression motion, but we’ll see what happens next,” said Terry Hughes who is Mathis’ lawyer.
“I’ll be honest,” said Josh's father. “I was one of them that was giving (pit bulls) a bad rep until I met Cletus... He’s just great. I don’t know how many times Cletus saved his life.”
“Now they are telling me I owe $800 if I want my dog back,” said Vernon. “That’s a lot of money. I don’t have that kind of money at this point in my life right now.”
Cindy Koch has always wanted a deaf dog. When asked why she would give the same reply every time. “Because I’m deaf and we want to relate to her, and understand how she feels- (we) want to communicate with her through signing, teach her signing.”
“The canine influenza hasn’t been introduced to this region before, so it’s just a very high likelihood of dogs catching it and carrying it if they are exposed, and we’re trying to get ahead of that,” said Doug Wynne of Paws 4 Play.
