Sally was used as a bait dog and left for dead. Just a little more than one month after her rescue, she is healed, happy and rehabilitated thanks to the loving care of her rescuers.
These dogs have spent their entire lives trapped in cages by themselves. Now they are getting to have their very first experience with fresh air, sunshine, grass between their toes, and each other.

“Alex spends around three hours each week, usually Thursday afternoons, working with two classrooms of special-needs students at Harris Elementary School in Amherst, said Chip Ingersoll, Alex’s human and trainer.
Ikea is trying to help shelters, often with limited resources to spread the word about adoption, and really push home the idea that adoption is the best way to go when you want to find a furry best friend to add to your family.
“Now they are telling me I owe $800 if I want my dog back,” said Vernon. “That’s a lot of money. I don’t have that kind of money at this point in my life right now.”
