For a New Jersey Chow mix dog who escaped his 2nd-story apartment, his freedom went as far as the length of the apartment building’s 2nd-story ledge. The pet was spotted stranded on the ledge by neighbors, and they called local firefighters to come rescue the dog.

The Connecticut Humane Society in Waterford wants to know who abandoned a sweet-natured, two-year-old, female Boxer just a short distance away from their front door. The dog was found tied to a post with just two feet of slack, but what surprised rescuers is that instead of being tied with a leash the pet’s previous owners used an electric cord.

We have all heard of the incident in Salt Lake City, Utah involving an unlawful entry on to private made by police on the 18^th of June, resulting in the shooting of Geist.  We’re also well familiar with the call for justice for Geist and his family.  This tragedy has become an inspiration to a man from West Valley City, Utah whom makes signs for a living.

On July 6, 2014, Grand Rapids, Mich., was hit by an EF-1 tornado and the devastating twister destroyed homes and anything in its path, including a dog boarding facility. A the time of the disaster, employees were able to relocate 60-70 dogs to a nearby building, but in the relocation Puckett, an eight-year-old Lab/Border collie mix who got spooked and ran away.

On July 10, 2014, a malnourished female dog was found tied outside the sixth level passenger drop off area at Denver International Airport (DIA). No one knows who left the pet there and no one came to claimed her, but the dog found a loving new owner that same night with United Airlines’ employee Mike Scott.

On July 11, 2014, 73-year-old Ronald Ward passed away while walking his dog, a white bull terrier, near the Canadian River northeast 36th and Sooner Road in Oklahoma City, Okla. Even though temperatures surpassed 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the loyal pup remained on guard, next to his owner’s body until police officers arrived at the scene.

The body was discovered by neighbors and they called authorities in order to get the deceased man and his dog some help.

For the past month, neighbors and animal lovers in Modesto, Calif., have tried to rescue a stray dog living in a dirt field near the 35-acre field at Oakdale Road and Floyd Avenue, but so far their efforts have failed.
