On September 21, 2014, a one-year-old terrier-pit bull mix was found injured in a New Orleans backyard. The dog was found with an arrow lodged in his body and the pet miraculously survived.
On July 24, 2014, a half starved, female, mastiff dog was rescued from Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Mich., after the dog was spotted by early morning walkers. Ingham County Animal Control rescued the pet and with the help of the community, the once abandoned and emaciated dog is now on her road to recovery.
The Connecticut Humane Society in Waterford wants to know who abandoned a sweet-natured, two-year-old, female Boxer just a short distance away from their front door. The dog was found tied to a post with just two feet of slack, but what surprised rescuers is that instead of being tied with a leash the pet’s previous owners used an electric cord.
On June 20, 2014, a small puppy named Roady became homeless when his owners tossed him out a car window on a Boone County, West Virgina, county road. Luckily, another driver on that same road witnessed the cruel act, stopped to rescue the innocent dog, and chased the car from which the pet had been tossed.
Two women heard howling coming from a trash container and when they looked inside they saw a dog with all four legs taped together. The woman saved the pet.
