On June 3, 2014, Dana, a small black and white dog from Spokane, Wash., got scared and ran off when a heavy thunderstorm hit the area. The canine was spooked to the point where she ran very fast not looking where she was going. The dog tried to leap over the Spokane River, but unfortunately the dog got trapped in the edge of the river and required professional rescue.
On June 3, 2014, a dog’s life was saved thanks to Washington’s Engine 76 firefighters, who were at the right place and at the right time. The hero rescuers witnessed when a car hit a female dog on 180th Street Southeast near Highway 9, and right away they rushed the innocent animal to a nearby vet clinic.
On June 4, 2014, firefighters rescued an eight-month-old, brown brindle Bullmastiff from under a ferry dock that links mainland Toronto with the city’s island airport. The trapped dog was discovered by constructions workers on their way to work.
On June 7, 2014, Turkish firefighters tried saving eight puppies that were trapped inside a drainage canal, however they were unable to because the pipe was too narrow for them to fit through and reach the dogs. Don’t worry, all puppies are alive and well. Their mom, a stray dog, came to their rescue.
The three dogs were discovered hiding under furniture, and were rushed out and given oxygen with special pet masks. Firefighters also rescued a Guinea pig, who was reported have been alert and eating veggies in its cage.
Ike disappeared from his home on Sunday night, but it wasn't until early Monday morning that a neighbor discovered the dog on the edge of a cliff, contacted its owner, and helped rescue the pet.
Three children turned into heroes when they walked near an abandoned well and overheard the cries of the animals. Thanks to them, the dogs were rescued.
