Six weeks ago, a concerned citizen heard a whimper coming from a garbage can. Under some trash was a weak and scared little dog. The pet was rescued and has found a loving forever home.
Tater and his owner Michael Blackwell were visiting a friend's farm when the playful dog spotted a squirrel near the foot of a tree, chased after it, and was impaled by a metal rod.
She must have been in the streets for so long as her fur was hanging from her skin in balls. She was extremely dirty and smelly, yet had the sweetest and most gentle eyes I have ever seen. The only move she made was to wag her tail when someone spoke to her.
Bailey is now safe and sound, and staying with Hilo and her husband, and their dogs. This is only while her broken front leg heals, and the perfect forever home and family for her.
Penny made an incredible recovery and she has been adopted by a loving family. She is spoiled, well cared for, and shares her home with another dog. Authorities are still looking for her abusers.
“We were so sad, so distraught for 17 months,” Miguel Cruz said. “When you’re a dog person, the dog is part of the family. It’s a family member that’s gone. So, you never give up hope.”
