Heroic Dogs

On July 28, 2014, Jeff Kopp was walking his dog Bobby near the Diamond Lake area in Michigan, and thanks to the dog’s stubbornness to walk towards a certain area, a newborn baby girl who had been abandoned in the bushes was saved.

Kopp and Bobby go out every morning, but on that day the dog insisted on walking an unusual route. Around 10:30 a.m. the dog pulled his owner towards a satellite dish along some plants, 3-feet off Marion road.

Virtudes, a Spanish woman, lost control of her car and fell 98 feet off a cliff but no one other than her loyal dog Canelo saw the accident. The woman spent 20 hours trapped inside her car at the bottom of the precipice before getting rescued.

A 13-year-old Miniature Pinscher named Sabrina has saved her owner, firefighter Curtis Young, from cancer two times now. The first time was in 2005 when the dog discovered a growing tumor on the back of his head, and the second time, this year, when the 11-pound dog discovered Young’s skin cancer on his back.

When Meg, a three legged dog rescued in 2008 from Rochdale’s RSPCA started whimpering at the rescue center’s ceiling, her owner and facility manager, Jean Spencer, knew there was something wrong. Upon investigating, Spencer found five kittens trapped in the ceiling. Those cute little kittens are alive and safe today thanks to Meg.

A neighborhood in Boulder, Col., is a lot safer today thanks to Squid, a weimaraner-pointer mix, who helped apprehend a neighborhood thief after alerting his owner about the robber outside her door.

Tina Fuller, Squid’s owner, was fast asleep in her room with her pet, when she was suddenly woken up by Squid’s growls.
