On November 1, 2014, drivers in Pereira, Colombia, stopped a woman from intentionally killing her dog after the woman tied her pet to the back of her car and planned to drag him to death.

Max, a three-month-old puppy, was abandoned at a Philadelphia high-kill shelter with a deep bite wound on his neck and head. Based on his injury, veterinarians think he was used as a bait dog and he is lucky to be alive today.

On October 21, 2014, a 4-pound Chihuahua was thrown against a Starbucks window by an enraged Houston man. The individual had been banned from entering the coffee shop and took his anger out on the dog. The tiny pup suffered a broken back leg and needs pins and plates to fix it, but thanks to Frisky Paws Rescue, the dog is now on the mend.

Larry McHale, the animal abuser, was arrested immediately after the incident and he was charged with animal cruelty.

The two year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier was found last week by two motorists in Wansford, Peterborough in England. The dog survived his attempted close range murder and then roamed a wooded area for two days. During this time, the pet had a 20 in. carbon fiber arrow lodged in his throat and head, but thanks to rescuers the pet is now recovering.

On Sunday, October 12, 2014, Spartacus a Pit bull from the Hyde Park area in South L.A. required surgery to close up multiple stab wounds. More than 1,000 stitches were done to patch up the sweet dog.
