A Colorado woman’s life was taken when she jumped into the fast-moving water of an irrigation ditch to save a dog who had fallen in. The dog is doing fine.
On June 4, 2014, firefighters rescued an eight-month-old, brown brindle Bullmastiff from under a ferry dock that links mainland Toronto with the city’s island airport. The trapped dog was discovered by constructions workers on their way to work.
On May 25, 2014, Larae Beck’s two dogs went out for a walk around the Beck’s large property in Farmington, Utah, but only one of the dogs returned home. Libby, a Labrador, was trapped on a ledge inside a river with white water rafting conditions. She was scared and cold, but thanks to a kindhearted family that heard her cries, the canine was saved and pulled from the fast flowing river.
On June 7, 2014, Turkish firefighters tried saving eight puppies that were trapped inside a drainage canal, however they were unable to because the pipe was too narrow for them to fit through and reach the dogs. Don’t worry, all puppies are alive and well. Their mom, a stray dog, came to their rescue.
On June 5, 2014, a concerned St. Louis, Mo., citizen contacted police and informed them of an abandoned dog in a garbage dumpster on the 4700 block of Hammett Place. Officers were dispatched to the location and they found a scared and malnourished female, terrier mix puppy, cowering inside the garbage bin.
The dog was pulled from the container and taken to Stray Rescue where she is being cared for and nursed back to health. She was named Little Kimmy.
The St. Louis Police were called out to the 4700 block of Hammett Place to respond to reports of a female, chocolate-colored puppy being rescued from a dumpster left to die Thursday night. The caller heard the dog whimpering as they were passing by.
“Animals being spared the life of suffering at the end of a chain or at the hands of somebody in a bloody pit, where they’d ultimately lose their lives,” said Chris Schindler.
