Driver Rescues Puppy Tossed Out from Car Window

On June 20, 2014, a small puppy named Roady became homeless when his owners tossed him out a car window on a Boone County, West Virgina, county road. Luckily, another driver on that same road witnessed the cruel act, stopped to rescue the innocent dog, and chased the car from which the pet had been tossed.

Teenager Starts Own Rescue Center to Save Homeless Pets

While most teenagers’ summer plans are to party, sleep in, or watch a lot of TV, 13-year-old Marisa Milford’s summer plans are completely out of the ordinary. Instead of doing what the average teen does during summer, Milford started her own pet rescue in her Youngstown, Fla., home.

Firefighters Rescue Mastiff Trapped Under Boulders

On June 17, 2014, Khaleesi, a ten-month old bull Mastiff from Barrington, Canada, chased a cat into a backyard near its home in Riverhead Road. In the yard, the cat hid in between the gaps of large boulders and the dog followed thinking she too could fit. The canine, a few dozen times larger than the cat wedge herself in between the gaps and became trapped.

Mary Ferguson, the pet owner, placed a call to local firefighters as soon as she caught up to her pet and found her confined in between the large rocks.

Nine Homeless Puppies Saved from High-Speed Road

On June 11, 2014, the joint efforts of a Toms River, New Jersey, woman, police officers and animal control officers saved the lives of a homeless Jack Russell terrier momma dog and her nine puppies. The family of ten were saved from a certain death on a high-speed road.

German shepherd Almost Drowns Trapped in Sea Rocks

In Mallorca, Spain, Yanko, an elder German shepherd, was rescued by firefighters from a rocky shore in Marina de Bonaire Cocodrilo, where the pet was trapped.

No one knows exactly how it happened, but it is believed the elder canine was walking along the rock wall when he slipped and became trapped in between the large sea boulders. Yanko’s head was the only thing visible, and the only way to free him was to pull him under water.

Dog Spends 550 Days at Shelter before Getting Adopted

Every shelter dog dreams of finding his or her human, leaving the shelter and entering a loving forever home. For Bolt, a homeless Staffordshire Bull Terrier from Drumoak, Aberdeenshire, the dream came true just after spending 550 days living in a Scottish SPCA Rescue center.

Nikki and Martin Shaw are Bolt’s newest forever parents. They met him at the shelter and instantly fell in love with him.
