A woman driving in the tunnel spotted the loose dog and she knew she had to do something to rescue it. With the help of another motorist the tiny pet was brought to safety.
“(It’s) rare to find one burn victim in a wildfire like this in the first place, but to find two that are probably from the same family unit is a miracle for them,” said Crumpacker.

While the hero rescuers excavated an area they overheard the cries of a dog. Following the sound they moved to where the sounds were coming from and started digging. Soon enough they found the dog.
