Reunited

When Bear, a griffin/German spitz cross puppy, got lost two weeks ago, his owner, 9-year old Noel Wogan from Whangarei, New Zealand, was devastated. The puppy had been a gift from his mother, Donelle, who died this past May from a rare illness. Luckily, Wogan’s family and community came together to find the missing dog and reunite him with his young owner.

Rebecca Ehalt had been gone for two years, “which in fairness is 14 years in dog years,” she explained.  Her mini Schnauzer Casey was so overjoyed to see her that she passed out with excitement at their reunion.

In October 2010, Helen Smith’s Parson Russell Terrier named Snowy was stolen from her Hook, Hampshire, England, backyard. The pet owner searched for the dog, but after months of empty results, Smith convinced herself she had lost her four-legged companion forever. Four years later, on June 17, 2014, Snowy was found 40 miles away from home.

When the Rowan family had to move from Texas to South Carolina, due to military re-assignment, they packed up everything and headed on a road trip for their move. However, along the way Winston, a seven-year-old wire terrier mix, accidentally got loose and lost.

The Rowans had stopped in Jackson, Miss., for a few nights and while they stayed  at a LaQuinta Inn off Interstate 55, the playful canine left their hotel room and let himself out the building.
