Over a year ago, Joules a Staffordshire Bull Terrier from Middlesex, went missing. Her owner, Liz Wilson-Roberts, searched for her pet, but after not finding the dog, the pet owner convinced herself that her dog was forever gone. Well, a few weeks back, Joules and Wilson-Roberts were once again reunited, all thanks to the dog’s microchip.

On November 30, 2014, Pets Without a Home (Animales Sin Hogar), an animal rescue organization from Montevideo, Uruguay, received a plea to help a mutilated dog taking refuge in a make-shift dog house in a backyard. No knows who the dog belongs to, who abused him, or how the tortured dog arrived at the home, but the little dog, now named Nick, had all four limbs and one of his ears mutilated, in addition to having part of his nose missing.

Nigel, a nine-year-old Chihuahua mix from Kansas City, Mo., didn’t really know what love was until he was rescued this year. This little dog had been badly abused and abandoned on the streets, but thank to Before the Bridge Senior K9 Rescue, the abused dog got a second chance in life.

When Dori was rescued, she was just a lump of dirty hair. Rescuers weren’t sure if she was alive because the lump of hair they found on the floor wouldn’t move. She weighed 11 pounds, after the matted hair was shaved off she weighed 7 pounds. Here is her amazing rescue and transformation.

Paco, a community dog from Lima, Peru, spends his days protecting a few blocks of his neighborhood. He is loved and fed by local residents and no one ever expected this loyal pet to get abused, let alone, that his abuser would be a volunteer firefighter.

Dogs are loyal human companions. An example of true friendship and human devotion comes from Serbia, where a male dog abandoned by his owners in a home filled with trash, almost died of starvation, waiting for his owners’ return.
