Starving Dog Found Locked in Crate in Public Park

On Sunday, October 5, 2014, Melrose Park Neglected Dogs feeders, a group of volunteers in Houston, Texas, who feed and help find placement within rescue organizations for the hundreds of dumped dogs found at the park, came across a case of abuse and neglect unlike any they had seen before. A malnourished, almost dead dog was dumped at the park. The pet named Sampson, was locked inside his urine and feces filled crate.

Rescuing Hazel Grace from a Torturous Life

When Trio Animal Foundation (TAF) learned of Hazel Grace, a badly abused dog from a rural area in Missouri, they did not hesitate to help. The black little dog had been kicked and hit by her previous owners and if that wasn’t enough, her abdomen and genital area were badly burnt. Luckily, the dog was flown to Chicago and she is receive the medical care and love she deserves.

Can a Three-Legged Dog Survive Life on the Streets?

Smiley, a black and white small dog from Moldova (Easter Europe), was a stray dog who survived as she could on the streets, until one day she got injured and lost one of her legs. In this remote country without animal protection laws, a stray dog’s chances of survival is minimal, now if the stray gets injured or loses a leg, surviving is just impossible. Thankfully, “Live Life” Dog Shelter rescued Smiley and now they are the dog’s only chance at living life.

Dolton Animal Hospital under Investigation After Dead Dogs Found

On Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, a Dolton, Ill., police officer made a gruesome discovery at Dolton Animal Hospital. When the officer arrived to drop off a stray dog he had just picked up he discovered four dead dogs in the facility.

Upon arrival, the officer smelled a foul odor and after investigating, he found four dead dogs in the building’s unfinished basement. The deceased animals were all in different stages of decomposition.

Houston Firefighters Rescue Dog Stuck in Tire Rim

Last month, Houston firefighters from Station 51 were surprised when a woman came into the station with a Lab mix puppy that had its head stuck in a tire rim. It took more than an hour and a various rescue attempts, but after all, the hero firefighters were able to safely pull the dog from heavy tire.
