Police Officers Rescue and Adopt Dog Found at ATL Airport

On April 16, 2015, a sweet female Pit bull believed to be about two-years-old was found tied to a pole in Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. The dog spent a few hours abandoned in the parking lot, but thanks to police officers, the dog was rescued and has found a new home.

The Dickerson family, from Greenbrier, Tenn., have a routine they follow each and every day. They wake up, get the kids ready for school and then the parents set off for work, but on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, something or better yet, a four-legged someone, was going to change their routine.

When Mr. Dickerson was leaving for work, he heard the cries of a dog coming from his yard, he went to check on the noise and found a puppy frozen to the ground underneath his shed. Immediately, Mr. Dickerson melted the ice and rescued the small pet.

Police Officer Adopts Dog He Pulled from Abusive Home

On February 17, 2015, police officers from Alicante, Spain, were called by neighbors who heard the frantic cries of a dog. When the officers arrived they found a small dog in excruciating pain and an owner who said he had no idea why the dog was crying. The officers pulled the dog from the home and arrested his owner for animal abuse.

Muncie Garbage Dog Rescued from Dumpster Gets New Home

On January 24, 2015, Gary West from Muncie, Ind., went to work and as he parked his car in the back of his family business, he heard dog cries coming from a nearby dumpster. The concerned man checked the container and found a German shepherd puppy abandoned in the bin laying on piles of trash.

Dog Rescued from LA River Still Looking for His Home

On January 30, 2015, Los Angeles firefighters came to the rescue of a dog that was carried away in a fast-flowing current in the Los Angeles River near Universal City. The rescue, caught on video by SKY9 news helicopter has been broadcasted by different media channels, but the dog has yet to be claimed by his owner.

 

 

Spain’s Nurse and First Ebola Survivor Adopts New Pet

Teresa Romero, a Spanish nurse, was the first person in Spain to get infected with Ebola in 2014 after she treated an infected patient. She was also the first patient in the country to survive the deadly disease. However, while Romero and her husband Javier were placed in isolation, their dog Excalibur was euthanized? by authorities after they feared the dog could be carrying the disease and infect other people.
