On November 18, 2014, a hairy small dog from Norden, England, hopped on the number 444 bus after his owner abandoned him. The dog seemed scared and nervous, but passengers made sure the little dog was taken to an animal rescue.

On Christmas Eve, Pillo a dog from Córdoba, Spain, was abandoned inside a trash container. His previous and unknown owner wanted nothing more with this dog. The pet was matted, beaten and starved. Whoever had him decided that Christmas Eve was the perfect night to toss the dog in a garbage bin and leave him there to die. Fortunately, the dog was discovered and saved.

On a very cold night, Hector a former stray dog, lost two of his legs and part of his tail when he froze to the ground. Fortunately he was found by a Good Samaritan who saved the dog’s life and adopted him into her family.

Lisa Korol, a 47-year-old woman from Canada, found the Border collie mix and took the pet to a veterinarian. She cared for the dog while he healed from his injuries.

A dog being pulled from a well is nothing new.  Sadly, dogs fall down wells all the time.  But this story is really special, because the dog who was trapped helped herself get out by holding onto the rope with her teeth as she was pulled to safety.  It took nine valiant tries, but finally she was saved.
