On November 30, 2014, Pets Without a Home (Animales Sin Hogar), an animal rescue organization from Montevideo, Uruguay, received a plea to help a mutilated dog taking refuge in a make-shift dog house in a backyard. No knows who the dog belongs to, who abused him, or how the tortured dog arrived at the home, but the little dog, now named Nick, had all four limbs and one of his ears mutilated, in addition to having part of his nose missing.

Brian’s story begins with him being dropped off at the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter in California.  When Leave No Paws Behind found out about him, they knew they had a real special case on their hands.

Scared, sick and severely underweight, Brian looked more like a skeleton than a dog.  He was taken in by Leave No Paws Behind, and they brought him to Dr. Mark Hohne at the East Valley Veterinary Clinic.

When the owner of a Styrofoam manufacturing company walked into his facility on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, the last thing he expected to find in one of his machines was a stray dog, but indeed, a homeless dog from Kern County, Calif., wiggled his head inside an opening in one of the industrial machines used for production and gotten his head stuck.

Nigel, a nine-year-old Chihuahua mix from Kansas City, Mo., didn’t really know what love was until he was rescued this year. This little dog had been badly abused and abandoned on the streets, but thank to Before the Bridge Senior K9 Rescue, the abused dog got a second chance in life.
