Back in February of this year we told you the story of Nikko, a street dog from Cartagena, Colombia, and Vanda Hale, an American citizen from Arizona. Hale met the street dog while she vacationed in the tropical city over Christmas break 2013. She fell in love with the black mutt and decided she had to rescue him and bring him home to Arizona.

In Rajasthan, western India, a stray dog was completely covered in tar and it laid motionless on the side of the road while the thick substance cooled and solidified making the canine a living rock. Luckily, the dog was spotted and Animal Aid Unlimited was called for help.

Smiley, a black and white small dog from Moldova (Easter Europe), was a stray dog who survived as she could on the streets, until one day she got injured and lost one of her legs. The hero dog suffered major burns but his heroism didn’t go unnoticed. A local veterinarian took over the dog’s care and saved the pet’s life.

Firefighters Rescue Dog Trapped in Water Treatment Plant Tank

When workers from Aqualia, a water treatment plant in Morón de la Frontera, Spain, spotted a medium size, white and black dog, trapped in one of the water tanks, the first thing they did was called firefighters for help. Thanks to local firefighters and plant employees, the trapped dog is alive today.

Firefighters Rescue Dog Trapped in Construction Zone

In Diamante, Argentina, a dog roaming around a construction site fell and became trapped in an excavated hole but thanks to firefighters the pet was rescued, checked by a vet and returned to his owners.

It appears the dog fell in a residential construction zone. The dog was found trapped inside one of the excavated holes for a home’s foundation. Only the dog’s face was visible and thanks to a local who heard the dog’s cries, the animal in need was rescued.
